I could say I miss the old Arctic Monkeys, but I'd be lying cause this is a masterpiece

every song arctic monkeys come out with is a masterpiece and it’s so amazing that they’re evolving as a band and creating what they want, even though it’s different to their old music

Just an incredible album. Watching it as a playlist on YouTube is a mental journey - a car that doesn't move but by the end you feel like you've driven somewhere in your mind. Can't really put it in to words.

I just do not know how to describe it, but the new tunes are so poetic; talking about lyrics, instrumental, everything. listening to this new album is like a fiest; each one of the songs is different, but somehow they have similar little tastes and ingredients that make them be connected to each other and create an integrated whole- this new album, which is a masterpiece.

Am I the only one who gets so emotional when he says "and it makes perfect sense" 🥲

"A revelation or your money back"
No refunds necessary, Alex. We've wrapped our heads around this one quite nicely.

Perfect Sense is the perfect closer! The whole project is so melancholic and several times throughout you can feel a sense of longing. Going back to the place where you once were just to have that feeling again kind-of-thing. Perfect Sense is against that, knowing that we can't be stuck in that same headspace forever, nor stay at the same place in time. In regards to the artist (Arctic Monkeys) it reflects on all the things that come together to make such a project work, sometimes sensible but often times not. "A four-figure sum on a hotel notepad" "[Man from the Excecutive Branch] having some fun with the warm-up act". In Order to say "Good Night" / to finish a project and get on with things, these weird sometimes unreasonable things must happen. And then the last Verse kicks in: "Keep reminding me that it ain't a race" that we should non the less not forget to enjoy the process. But in order to not overstate your welcome you don't get a grand final. They kick you out right away, so you get the taste of melancholy hanging in your mouth. That's why it ends so abruptly.

The violin melody is astronomically beautiful

Muchas gracias Arctic Monkeys

Alex Turner has matured into one of the best pure song writers alive, from the poetry to the cadence. Just levels above.

This album is an absolute masterpiece! I've seen their style change through the years; this band has done it all and I just love them for that

The best song to end one of the best eras of the Arctic Monkeys.

[Verse 1]
Richard of York: The Executive Branch
Having some fun with the warm-up act
If that's what it takes to say goodnight
Then that's what it takes

[Verse 2]
A four figure sum on a hotel notepad
A revelation or your money back
That's what it takes to say goodnight
Sometimes, I wrap my head around it all
And it makes perfect sense

[Verse 3]
Keep remindin' me that it ain't a race
When my invincible streak turns onto the final straight
If that's what it takes to say goodnight
Then that's what it takes

this, 505 and Do me a Favour were in my dream. Today I dreamt about being in a cinema but instead of a movie, it was a stage with Arctic Monkeys, ofc you could just stand up and go nearer but it felt weird that almost nobody did it, it was crazy the last thing I remember was Alex singing "That's what it takes, say good-bye..." I wish I werent wake up *snif
