South mein ground water depletion aur bura haal hai. But ek baat hai ki agar river ke aaspaas hi agar rice cultivation kiya jaye aur baki jagah na karne diya jaye toh yeh problem hoga hi nahi.

I heared in a podcast that China being one of the major rice consumers has reduced the rice production so that they can save water. They are well aware about the future conflicts over water. Also, this is the reason China is flighting over Arunachal Pradesh because water survey for Bramputra revealed that 2/3 of water in Bramputra comes from Arunachal Pradesh and just 1/3 is in China. I think governments should encourage the diversification in farming.

कुछ गांव में जब बिजली नहीं आती, तो वहां के किसान ट्यूबवेल की मोटर को ऑन करके छोड़ देते हैं और सो जाते हैं रोज सुबह 4:00 जब बिजली आती है तो पानी आने लगता है और हद से ज्यादा पानी बहता रहता है फिर जब किसान खेत में पहुंचता है तब 7 या 8:00 होता है इन 4 घंटे में कितना पानी बर्बाद होता है

I am from Maharashtra from Marathwada region of dharashiv district.here situation is I am in city and our house tubewell is 500 feet😂😂.we got water at 395 feet.can u imagine how Marathwada is dried up.😅

Its not only about North but the same situation arises in south india too such as banglore, Mysore dependency over river Kaveri.

Electricity free hai farmers ka liya to misuse itna hai uska ki water requirment agar 2 hours k liye hai field may. But fir bhi water ko 10- 12 hours k liya pump kiya jata hai. And saara pani overflow kar k drains may jata hai. Kyuki electricity free hai to bill to ana nahi or pani free hai to uska kuch jana nahi.
