Nice that some companies are still building a 'tradition' sports tourer. Not everyone wants to tour on an adventure bike.

I rode one of these this past year, and the word that kept leaping to mind was "Easy." Everything about it was Easy. The riding position (also 5'8" myself), getting feet down, the weight balance and handling, the torque, the smoothness of the quickshifter, the smoothness of the engine, the cruise control, the windscreen adjustment... it was just Easy. Exactly what I'd want for touring. Ultimately, as a father of a 5 year old, I'm not doing much touring at the moment, so I opted for a different direction, but it's a fantastic bike.

As a Kawasaki fan boy I decided to ignore the GS1300 reviews and watch this video.
Great review on a cool bike, and in the world of £20k bikes, £12k for a 140bhp bike which is renowned for its reliability, sounds like a bargain 👍

Great review Sir. I do like the red and black color scheme!

Bought a low mileage 20' (6k miles) back in March of 22'. As of today the bike has right at 24k miles. I have the OEM comfort seat, panniers and added a Givi top box. I did a bread box/ cat delete and added a Leo Vince silencer as the OEM silencer was just hideous/ heavy. The bike is an absolute joy to ride and other than replacing the battery and general maintenance there have been zero issues.

I find it very comfortable to ride even at 60 years of age. Last road bike I will probably ever own.

Ride safe

Have this bike (‘21), love this bike (actually my dream bike), but I like hearing the insights of more well-ridden riders. I’m a virtual newbie after a 28 year motorcycling sabbatical (kids), I enjoy your fresh perspective and have subscribed to hear more! Cheers

Great review. By coincidence, I tested one of these last week at my local dealership and I was really impressed with it. Lovely smooth engine, pretty comfortable, well equipped, and very good value for money. With a current offer from Kawasaki, the base model, which you and I both rode, is priced at less than £11, 500. That's a lot of bike for the money!

Great review, I’m in my early 70’s and still ride a sport bike but I can see these as a perfect replacement.

Enjoyed that Andy! A bike I've never tried actually... need to sort that out 👍

I just got a ninja1000sx 2024 model. I love the comfortable riding position, the shocks, the torque, the brakes, and both lights stay on on low beam. I love this bike, it handles well and has a smooth engine. Great review.

Rode the 2016/17 model and found it to be a very competent machine. Comfortable, smooth, decent handling and more than enough performance for anyone on the road.

I'm on my second one, its does it all. Wait until you get the suspension set up, transforms the bike even further. There is a reason they are popular, reliable, do it all, economical and easy to ride.

Ive just returned from a 2200kms round trip from Sydney Australia to Phillip Island for the 2023 motogp with a few mates. Bikes included my 2008 vfr800, a Yamaha fz1n, a 2014 mt09 and my mates 2023 Kawasaki ninja 1000sx which he loves. Hes done 7000kms on it soo far and its his best bike to date. Heaps of grunt. Very timely review, I have been looking at this bike to replace my R9T.
Very handsome, good looking, “Ridable” Bike.
And also, this bike is so easy to change the oil and filter, no need to take off any fairings, like the similar Suzuki-GT

I had a 2011 and I loved it. I had it for 5 years. It felt super intuitive, it was quicker than what I needed, and it was reasonably comfortable. The downsides were that it was not super fuel efficient, the older style windscreen wasn't great, and the older dual sided exhaust made chain maintenance a pain.
The rear chain adjustment system and axle holder thing was quite unusual and required some getting used to.

This bike in the 40th anniversary ninja colours is very tempting as something to keep my 84 ninja company 🙂 great review.

The roads in the South East really are shocking these days, but look on the bright side: it radically improves your riding skill when you have to constantly avoid potholes. Nonetheless, it was a relief to get back on to decent tarmac here in the Netherlands.

I gave serious consideration to one of these just prior to taking the plunge for a Gen 3 Hayabusa. Certainly not disappointed with my choice as I like the longer wheelbase of the big Suzuki but the big Kwak was a close second choice.
