I like how you are comparing a brand new airfryer to 3 small ovens. You should do a real comparison to other airfryers.

Scientifically it wasn’t fair to cook all the same time. Each machine works differently and temperature should have been measured.

The best way to use an airfryer for steak is for the initial step of a reverse sear. Season a nice thick steak and place it on its edge, fat cap up (toothpicks might be necessary for balancing). Use the airfryer setting at 300F for 10-15 min for 1.5" or 15-20 min for 2". The steak should be 10F below doneness, the surface will have had moisture removed by the convection fans, and the fat cap will have rendered itself, basting the steak in fat. Sear the steak with your preferred method and enjoy a perfect reverse sear in half the time.

As an owner of the Chefmaker, the chefmaker function is great for juicy doneness, but sucks for crust across the recipes. For the best results, either use the probe cook function or stop the chefmaker recipe at the browning phase and manually finish using the broiler or airfry modes.

I think you should've used the wireless thermometer on each ...and cooked until each has the exact same core temp

1 airfryer and rest are ovens, what a fair comparison

Thank you Guga for posting this video today! I was just told that I have a non cancerous brain tumor. This video has really brightened my day!

basically he cook the first steak at the DREO optimal setting and the others on the same settings even if the heat elements and cooking style are very different, and guess what, they all did worst, what a surprise.... this was just an extended Ad made just to make the Dreo shine

Surely the best use of these appliances would be to reverse sear the steaks and then finish in a hot pan?

I thoroughly enjoyed this video not because I like to cook steaks in an air fryer, I would much rather cook them, sous vide, and then sear them in butter with rosemary. But, I have been on the verge of homelessness for about the past three months, and yes, I have a full-time job I’m working hard to get everything caught up, I’ll get there eventually, but for someone like me, living in a camper, wanting a delicious steak, I would absolutely cook a steak in an air fryer, the only thing I would do differently, is, I would treat it like the reverse sear method. If I had to use an air fryer.

All in all, if you are living on a budget, you can find a nice sous vide, circulator and vacuum sealer for right around $150 altogether that’s including bags, save up a little money, and get you a sous vide machine and plenty of bags, it will change how you cook forever ! If you’ve been watching this channel for long enough, you have probably seen how to do sous vide, it’s simple and easy and delicious, it’ll make cooking a steak so simple. It’s ridiculous. You can season it with whatever you like, I like, putting some white pepper on my steaks as well, but the air fryer trick works if that’s all you have and you want to have a good steak. Could you do something like this for a date night? Absolutely but if you’re going to use an air fryer, I would use some type of small cast-iron pan to help develop that sear. Or cook the steak to rare, then throw it in a hot pan with some butter and rosemary.

The key was at the beginning of the video where he said sponsored by chef Maker. So you know he was gonna do what favored that product over the others

I have the Brevile Smart Joule model and I pretty much don't use my regular oven anymore. It's really fantastic for everything, including air frying and dehydrating.

Thank you for this.

I live on my own so I tend to use my air fryer oven and my more traditonal table top oven as it can be a waste of power heating up the larger oven in my apartment just to cook enough for one person so it's nice to see the comparison of how they cook differently

The best? whoever you are sponsored by, you sold your soul years ago. 🤣

each of these units have their own power source - and should be adjusted with cook time and temp to get the crust - but also perfect cooked steak inside. With adjustments, one should be able to get crust, and a quality med rare steak from any of these units.

Guga and Co should try using liquid smoke

I appreciate the review but none of those high priced "gadgets" made a steak that I would pay for or serve to a guest in my home. I would be embarrassed to put any of them on a plate. I'm sure they are good for other things but none of them are worth the money in regard to steaks. Bottom line? People just need to learn to cook. Steaks especially are super simple and can make anybody look like a hero at dinner time with little effort.

Guga! You have got to check out the new Cosori Twinfry. I live in Europe and so the options are different than in the US. I'm on a Carnivore diet and so I need lots of nicely cooked red meat. My oven broiler just didn't work. I could never get that nice sear. That left me with the frying pan. And while I could get the job done, it would smell up and smoke up my whole apartment, often setting off the smoke detector. So I searched and searched. I watched your videos on air fryers, and they really do struggle with cooking a decent steak. Then the Cosori Twin Air recently came out. I'm a single guy so the 10L cooking area is overkill for my needs, but it quickly heats up to 487F / 240C. And let me tell you, when you select grill mode at top temp for 10 min, plus I used my inkbird temp stick, the results where amazing. A beautiful Maillard reaction while my not so thick steak. was perfectly medium rare. No smoke, no excessive smell around the whole apartment. You've got to check out the new twinfry. The higher temp seems to make all the difference.
