I had lots of fun with the X5105 but sold it due to limited time for portable ops at QRP power.

But the best fun I had with the X5105 was when I brought it to Germany with the hyend company.nl portable 100 watt EFHW and spent 5 hrs on a lovely sunny day up a hill made loads of contacts, it was a very small compact setup and fits very easy in a pannier on a bicycle and into a spall back pack for the plane.

X5105 is a decent radio, the battery lasts ages, I never really used the tuner as my antennas are resonant or I use the Super Antenna MP1 but for 5 watts probably better off with wire antenna as they are better for NVIS and you have better chance at making contacts with antenna for NVIS.

I would like to see Xiegu offer the X6100 without a tuner to make it cheaper but sell the tuner separate if you want to add it later like electraft. To me there's no point having a tuner with a lossy antenna with QRP, it's not going to make the antenna work better. I'd rather a more efficient antenna and no tuner. So pity it's not available as option.
