In a future I would like to have more similar videos explaining how to overcome (if that is even possible) some of current issues of Revit to IFC exporter.
I would also like to someone point out great number of current problems with Export>Revit IFC exporter and its inability to accurately export important information related to dimensions or common properties such as eg. doors and windows.
Also, it would be nice to someone could give some timeline or a roadmap for improving exporter to preserve and export information related to Revit material properties into IFC or to export and preserve relations between Revit families and their shared families, etc.
The problem is that current vendors don't really care enough about developing good IFC exporter for their products (ArchiCad export to IFC is significantly better than Revit and allows export of separate layers of compound elements. Also, it creates new GUIDs for each exported instance of linked model elements, unlike Revit)
Looking forward to some new videos on the same topic with Dion or anyone else already involved in development of various IFC exporters
