LYRICS
Me and my arrow
Straighter than narrow
Wherever we go, everyone knows
It's me and my arrow
Me and my arrow
Taking the high road
Wherever we go, everyone knows
It's me and my arrow

And in the morning when I wake up
She may be gone
I don't know
And if we make up just to break up
I'll carry on
Oh yes I will

Me and my arrow
Do do do do do do do do
Straighter than narrow
Wherever we go, everyone knows
It's me and my arrow

Me and my arrow
Me and my arrow
Me and my arrow
Me and my arrow
Me and my arrow

Me and my arrow
Do do do do do do do do
Straighter than narrow
And wherever we go, everyone knows
It's me and my arrow

This just popped back into my memory, from when I was a kid. Always loved this song...a kids with no friends, but his trusty dog. Brought me to tears.

I lost my dog today. First time I've ever been through this. I grew up with him, he's been with me through so many hardships. He was 17. My mother was with him this morning, when he left us, I couldn't be there. I'm so heartbroken. I will always miss you, Cholo

I saw the entire film. Ringo Starr narration is phenomenal, and the story itself is truly timeless, because it talks about accepting the things that make us different

This is the best song I can ever remember hearing play over a loudspeaker at Old Navy.

I watched a portion of this film while in elementary school (late '90s) I hated the animation & story, but the music was pretty groovy. Dad sure does love it. He's a huge nerd forever for music & classic animation.

The first time I saw this animated movie it had a such a profound impact upon me that I cannot explain well.
As a boy, I knew was that someday I would have a canine of my very own, unlike "the family dog". It would be just mine.
Well, I never gave it much more of a thought, after finishing college or even high school, for all that matter.
Then, through a turn of events, one day God placed a canine into my adult life.
I thank God every day for that canine...and I miss her terribly now that she's dead.

Just a thought - this was a kid who felt so different from everyone else, but found love from a stalwart dog - Arrow. Which btw is well named since the 1971 animated show was called “The Point”.

I was 14 when this was on TV. I loved it.... especially this song!
You don't have to have a point, to make a point!

This was effective music and lyrics, "The Point", Oblio! (No double entendre meant about the "straight up and narrow, me and my arrow.") Thank you, Dreary Ghost, for posting Maestro Harry Nilsson musical talent!

The day before yesterday... My Betta fish named Aquiles passed away He was 3 years old and lived in a big aquarium, this song used to be my alarm and he was happy when it went off. He would wait for me to wake up, wait for food time, and get excited when I arrived home after school.. I loved him
Before he died he remembered this song when I played it for the last time... The next day he was already gone

Achilles, I loved you very much and I will continue to love you.

The Point was released 50 years ago, in 1971, not 1977.

I first came across Nilsson on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I’ll over that song then and now.
