Skoda Kushaq 1.0 vs 1.5 | Must Watch Before You Buy!

The Skoda Kushaq offers buyers two turbo petrol engines. The bigger 1.5-litre engine obviously offers more muscle and even gets a fancier autobox. But that also means a fatter price tag.

Skoda Kushaq Pricing (Ex-showroom Delhi)
1.0 TSI - Rs 10.49 - 15.79 lakh
1.5 TSI - Rs 16.19 - 17.59 lakh

But with our experience of the smaller 1.0TSI in cars like the Polo, the Rapid and the Vento, even with the slightly lower tune, we’ve come to really like the way it performs. It’s a peppy engine that packs a little more punch than you expect and in a light car like the Polo, can be a lot of fun to drive too. But the Kushaq, at 1185kg, adds more weight (approximately an extra passenger's worth) to the equation. Just how much does this make a difference in the real world and can the 1.5 TSI add enough oomph to the mix to convince you to shell out the extra Rs 1.8 lakh?

This is what I call a proper road review! This is what I expect from any real world car reviews! Kudos Zigwheels for this brilliant and to the point review.

In reality,
Choose 1.L Auto :
> If you are gentle driver who is not expecting continuous pull start from 15 km/hr…
>Driving more in city with frequent start stop and low speed
> More reliable torque converter… but dont consider it as others manufacturer… Its far better than them… and want to avoid less reliable DSG… costly maintenance in long run…
>Affordable initial price 2L
> More mileage on highways if you are gentle and speed below 100… milage >20+ easily achieved…

Choose 1.5L auto
> if you are passionate for power from start
> more refined sound of 1.5 L

Both car are equally stable at 170 km/hr… don’t judge by size of engine … its simple… you want to feel more power at higher initial cost less reliable gear box low mileage in city with very less difference for driving on highway… then only think for 1.5L ….

The 1.5 is such a beast
Bigger cars like the Audi A5 uses them in lower variants, same outputs too

The 1.5 is worth the extra bucks any day if you really want to feel the power. Besides the engine is more refined, it makes less noise and gives more milege. If most of your drive is highway then it's definitely worth considering.
In general Kushaq is safe and fun to drive car. You can feel the control.
I personally choose 1.5 manual because i don't want to feel that the engine is getting underpowered as it gets old.

As someone who owns a kushaq, this is probably the most accurate description of how the car feels on YouTube. Keep up the good work!

One doubt I have is, why all these epc problems do not come up during the extensive testing of the cars and test drives ?

Spend the same money on Taigun and you get the visible difference as well. The GT badging makes it all worth it :)

Considering the petrol price rising they should add atleast a micro hybrid system

But, does the DSG allows to slam gears on downshift, the gearbox on the i20 n-line doesn't let u shift until in the rpm range that is mapped into the ecu
