It's not just a pipeline; it's a threat to the Canadian way of life.

This is our response.

At LUSH, we believe that a multi-billion dollar project proposed by an unsustainable industry — one that could threaten your land, your water, your jobs, and your very livelihoods — is one that Canadians should have the right to vote on!

Thank you Lush Cosmetics. Oil companies lie and when they damage the environment the taxpayers are on the hook for the cleanup.

Ok fair is fair. Someone take this ad and mock it.

Far more jobs are created in researching, developing and implementing renewable energy technologies than in building an oil pipeline, with all the risks of oil spills in earthquake/avalanched disposed BC, w/ great potential to devastate tourism jobs, wildlife and fisheries. There is also no econ. benefit to BC or nationally from Enbridge proposal pls. see Robyn Allan & David Hughes reports onlines. BC's vast potential in sustainable renewables and some LNG is in BC's best interest.

"Most destructive project on Earth"? No exaggeration there, and that's just the first of many. But one thing is correct, its not just a pipeline, its the first step to Canada becoming an energy powerhouse and reaping for Canadians the full benefits.

And that commercial is why I tell everyone I know to not shop at Lush.

Excellent work Kimhunter, there will be a negative economic impact to the overall Cdn economy from the Enbridge pipeline, as there is already enough supply of pipelines in Canada, Enbridge to fill their new pipeline will be siphoning off raw bitumen to U.S. and eastern Canada to go to China. The key to is Enbridge wants to make as much profit as a pipeline transporter of oil while oil is hot, as nations and private companies globally are robusting implementing renewables.

Case in point . . . this video has had just over 12, 000 views . . . Look for a video posted on the same day that is a movie or rock star, and see how many views they have had.

Yes they can use hemp and other oil exracts to make these products but unless you want to 20$ for that 1$(currently) plastic cup than its not economical. Also if this project dose happen it will like all other things big or small be subject to EPA guidelines

Leading nations globally are researching, developing & aggressively implementing renewable energy technologies ie by 2020 Scotland will be generating all of it's electricity via renewables. It is in BC's best interest econ.& environ. to be competitive in the global renewable energy sector. BC with some of the greatest sustainable potential in this sector inc. wind, tidal, biomass, hydroelectric ect.. BC can be one of the world leaders in the highly lucrative renewable sector.

Ali Al-Naimi Saudi Arabia's Minister of oil at the Middle East & North Africa Energy Conf. Jan 2012 said "Greenhouse gas emissions and global warming are among humanities most pressing concerns." 2011 Saudi allocated 109 billion to renewable R&D and implementation, China building worlds lgest windfarm in world in Bohai Bay, Scotland will generate all electricity via renewables by 2020, it is in BC's best interest econ. and envir.to further develop it's great sustainable potential in renewables.

What is the answer? If you do not use the oil, what do you use? If you are going to beef about what is happening now, you must have an alternative solution that you can sell to average Joe. The public is so preoccupied with their day to day lives, i.e. what the movie stars are doing, what TV to watch or game to play . . . can you get them to pay attention?

Where have you been? Have you seen the great lakes recently? Go down and have a drink from Lake Erie.

I am sure kimhunter you have read experienced economist Robyn Allan's report re: the neg econ. impact of the pipeline to the Cdn and prov. economy and very well regarded energy economist David Hughes both concluding it is not in the nations economic best itnerest, the details are in the reports easy to rd. On pure economics, let alone significant environmental risk, ie Enbridge just had a large spill in Alberta, we should not even be bothering w/ this proposal which will only benefit Enbridge.

But it is ok to ruin the Great Lakes, the most important and unique place on earth. The devstation thre is appalling and yet the environmentalists are silent.

Wow, that is a small minded comment. I guess some people just don't get it.

This message is too "uppity" to be taken seriously. In my opinion.

Oh no =-( Way to greenwash, Lush =-( Maybe if you'd stop using petrochemicals in your products, people could believe you sincerely mean well with this campaign. Signing the compact for safe cosmetics would be a nice gesture, too. As it stands, it's hard to believe this campaign means to accomplish any more than drive customers to your stores. I hope people will take the time to do their homework before applauding Lush's corporate social responsibility. *sigh*
