Instead of giving special privileges to females in hiring, companies should set-up trainings or bootcamps in colleges for women to accelerate their growth. No matter what justification anyone gives, diversity hiring is a wrong practice and should be abolished, and everyone knows that.

Sorry to say this but clearly she has no idea what she is talking about. She is only contradicting herself . You can’t just support diversity in one sector and not support in another. Listening to her points are like compiling a 10 lines of code and getting 1000 errors and warnings.
Also : NOT ALL MEN ARE RAPIST .

I think companies should make their agenda clear about Diversity Hiring. If a company is bold enough to reject a deserving candidate based on gender, they should also be bold enough to announce that "X candidate has been rejected due to gender". Else a deserving candidate ends up doubting their capabilities which affects their mental heath to a large extent

I just saw the entire podcast, and the first thing that came to my mind is how could an INCOMING engineer who has not even experienced work life, could answer such questions. What the girl said was her opinion, and she can definitely have her say. We can agree or disagree.

But on the first place, you should definitely have given it a second thought before discussing such a sensitive topic with someone who has not even started when people follow you in huge numbers. Again you might tend to agree or disagree. It was just my opinion as a content creator. I have enormous respect for you, so nothing personal, I was just curious.

@gaurav, I went to my alma mater from paypal as a campus ambassador in 2015.

So they finally shortlisted 3 candidates, all male. One of them was a shoo in. The other two were kind of tied, they couldn't just take one of them and reject the other one. Now the problem with PayPal's interview panel was that neither of these 3 candidates were female, so hiring all three would have impacted diversity quota.

Finally around 2 at night, they received the information that 2 girls had been selected from IIT Kharagpur, so the diversity quota had been met. Hence they hired all 3 candidates from my alma mater.

So basically, 2 candidates were kept awake and praying not because they were not good enough, but because they were guys.

That's what diversity hiring or any such affirmative action does to you. Whether or not it brings more equality of outcome is debatable, but it certainly brings about equality of torture.

Not a good guest to talk about Diversity hiring in tech. This is a very sensitive topic and anyone who is taking this topic must have an ample amount of experience in the industry to talk with reality.

Okay, I am at 14:50 She just finished saying "that a male nurse took advantage of..." Till now I haven't find anything constructive or neutral about 'straight men'. I am just not able to respect her views. It's too generalized and came from a society where men are nothing but dominating and rapist.

Honestly I feel like reading an essay on topic "why not straight men should be allowed in the workplace".

Gaurav, the dislikes are for your guest, please don't take them personally, YouTube doesn't give an option to dislike the guest's opinions.

We don't have problem with diversity hiring but when you hear that the same company which asks male candidates medium to hard level leetcode questions in interviews are asking about binary search and projects from the female candidates. That really hurts....
Speaking from personal experience at Morgan Stanley 🙄

I am a woman and i have been looking for jobs as of late and i have rejected every recruiter who has called me to say 'we are hiring women, this is your chance'. I mean not only is it degrading, it makes no sense. What we really want in the tech industry is openness towards all parties irrespective of gender, culture, sexuality etc. I dont want to be thought of as a weak hire and dont need special quotas to get hired. I just need to be equally considered for a job considering my skillsets. If a hiring manager rejects me because he doubts my potential, then i have a problem.

Diversity hiring increases efficiency by not allowing deserving candidates to sit in tests.Lol😂

Diversity hiring happens only in high-paying jobs, nobody wants to have diversity hiring in off-shore drilling, garbage collecting, sewage maintenance, or any other tough jobs.

Last Decade:- CGPA doesn't matter, skills does.
This Decade:-Skills doesn't matter, gender does.

Let's see what the next decade brings us :)

Construction work is not a low skill job. It might be a less pay one, but definitely not a low skill one.

Though I am Woman, I am against of diversity. Company should not compromise on quality in the name of diversity. I have seen many girls who even can't write proper logic even having 3-4yrs of experience (this doesn't mean all boys are good, i have seen some boy too who can't write good code) . In MNC people hire girls for entertainment sometimes, so good looking girls get benefits of that

Also male colleagues always under estimates women who are good, they thinks that women can't do good job.
I personally have faced this challenge.

Same criteria, same difficulty of the interview process would be justice to both male and female candidates.

Lol, look at her answer to the problem at 13:14. Ideally, I was taking everything as her personal opinion, that was acceptable, but what she did on that problem simply tells you how immature she is in her answering. You don't answer that a minimum number of Men in Healthcare cannot be justified because Male Nurses are rapists and patients don't feel safe with them. I think this is the most illogical thing you would hear today, no matter you are a girl or boy :) Wonder how GKCS uploaded the video after this answer.

I feel like if more women pursue engineering, there will automatically be more women in companies. In most engineering classes there are like 100 boys and 20 girls. With that gender ratio, how can you expect 50 50 ratio in tech companies. Just my naive opinion
