Scratches... ? Do you use it as a tool or just something to look at ?

"skins" are available made of cordura or rubber and adhesive to stick to the handles (Ripps's Garage). All different colors and patterns.

As I mentioned before, my only gripe is the lack of a serrated blade. I'm not worried about scratches. I beat the hell out of my tools. The movement in the bit driver is a bit concerning but I'm sure it will hold up. I'd love to see a Free platform version of the Surge that also incorporates a chisel/package opener like the Victorinox Swiss Tool

I’ve been wishing they would ditch the serrated blade for ages. In 15 years of carrying Leatherman tools, I have never needed a serrated blade. A straight edge has been good to go 100% of the time. I have needed every other tool this thing has. Definitely getting one.

That second bottle opener is a can opener.

Said there was no serrated blade and open every tool on the arc but the serrated blade on the same side of the magna cut blade.

There aint no double bottle opener.
Bottle opener is the one with the screwdriver.
The other one is just can opener.
It is stated on the instruction sheet

zap wizard has a video on the Garage #5 where he adresses the Bit Driver looseness, he basically just takes the bit out and hits it with a hammer and that stops the bit from wobbling.

I kind of think the best thing about the tool is the lack of serrated blade. Not so much that I want it gone, I'd just rather have a full size file and scissors. I've used the file on my wave way more often than the serrated blade.

What do you use the serrations for? The only use I can ever really find for serrated knives is cutting bread.

Tool looks awesome! Can’t wait to get my hands on one. By the way there’s only one bottle opener, the other is a can opener… I never really open cans up, but I have used the can opener as a scraper from time to time. Nice video.

DLC and standard black oxide coatings are two very different processes. Full DLC coating, like the Leatherman Arc has, is very hard to scratch, and is pretty much the toughest coating on the market. The standard black oxide coating that is found on previous leatherman's is much cheaper and much less durable.

If you had to be honest would you recomend it to someone who has a wave, surge, p2 or p4? Or would you say its more a cool gimmick because its a premium p4?

When u use the tool, it will scratch anyway.

Put a magnet on there…if it sticks, u know it’s not aluminum.

I was going to get the ARC but did research and bought the CHARGE. I'm glad I did. If they improve the ARC in the future I might consider getting one.

I received my arc a few days ago and I’m honestly thinking about returning it. It’s nice but the blade on mine has a terrible edge on it.

Is this just a rerelease of the first Gen. surge with spice?

I should add, I do not own a Letherman just to look at , as a window cleaner I use my charge every day , if I forget it at home I'm screwed and the reason I own two ... always a spare on hand
