Kimberlé Crenshaw receives Yale School of Public Health’s C.-E. A. Winslow Medal

Prominent law professor and civil rights scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw, whose work has been foundational in two fields of study she coined and developed – critical race theory and intersectionality – was awarded the C.-E.A. Winslow Medal, the Yale School of Public Health’s highest honor, on February 3, 2023.

Crenshaw participated in a 45-minute discussion with Daniel Martinez HoSang, professor of Ethnicity, Race, & Migration and American Studies in Yale’s American Studies Department. Crenshaw and HoSang were among the authors of the 2019 book "Seeing Race Again: Countering Colorblindness Across the Disciplines."
