The fact that SpongeBob has a healthier relationship with Plankton, who prides himself an evil villain, than Mr. Krabs, his own boss, really shows how messed up Mr. Krabs is.

Plankton would actually be a better boss at the Krusty Krab if he did give up his world-domination goals. When Patrick was working at the Chum Bucket, Plankton said that Pat earned a promotion for pleasing the customers with silly slogans. Plankton also supports Squidward's cooking talents after the Fricassee was a huge hit. And also, he isn't money-grubbing like Krabs. Krabs underpays, overworks, and stresses out his employees so that the customer is pleased with the food.

Honestly, I truly think Plankton is only evil because of Mr. Krabs's greed, and being separated from his family, anyone can be redeemed, they just need to find the right place, and proper care. Thats from someone who watched 6 kid cartoons in my past where villains became redeemed.

What's sad about Mr. Krabs is that he used to have *very* positive relationships with SpongeBob and Pearl. Remember the episode where he spent so much money on the stuff Pearl wanted to have at the Krusty Krab? He knew she was costing him money but refused to fire her because, well, he's her daughter. Even when SpongeBob fired her later, Mr. Krabs fainted. Not to mention how much he used to look out for SpongeBob. He really had a fall from grace.

SpongeBob and Patrick’s relationship literally went through the same issue as Ralph and Vanellope from Ralph Breaks The Internet. Two actual best friends that were written terribly and will forever be canon. *sigh*

No surprise that SB and Pat are on the grey area. I mean, classic era started to portray his antagonistic side. The same for Squidward. Both were toxic to SB.

Mr. Krabs and Plankton are indeed the most toxic relationship in the show. Which is a shame, since they used to be friends as kids. Kinda wish they teamed up more often.

Also, i'm happy that SpongeBob and Patrick are not in the toxic relationships and are close to healthy. To be fair, they had it better in the older episodes. And SpongeBob and Squidward are definitely grey. Whenever SpongeBob and Squidward actually gets along, i find it wholesome to watch.

I did expect a healthy to toxic list of SpongeBob characters to look like this, i did indeed expect some to be in either healthy, grey, or toxic.
