In my experience, nondisabled people can get super uncomfortable when disabled adults are anything less than pure little angels. This is such a great tactic to draw people in.

I love this! I was told one of my pregnancies had an extremely high risk of being Down Syndrome and was asked if I wanted to terminate not once but twice.... Even had a bunch of doctors come in the second time to "educate me" for about a half hour. I still kept refusing. It turned out that he actually had a heart issue but still... Even with thinking he was going to have DS, I was so excited! Why? Because I was having a baby!!!

What's worst is when they say first thing, "I don't have the patience to raise them" like no this ain't about you.

I get it if you're not fit to be a parent you shouldn't be. I'd respect it more if they genuinely don't want their children to suffer.

One of my friend's had a baby with down syndrome and she brought her to see me, before i knew she had it. Upon seeing her for the first time, my first *INSTINCTIVE* response wasn't some insensitive unintentional put down, it wasn't sorry. It was, damn bro she's as beautiful as her momma. Now, bit of context: my friend is among the most beautiful women I've ever seen in my life and i mean that in the most platonic way possible. And i meant it. Her baby was incredibly picturesque and absolutely stunning to behold. She had ocean blue eyes and a surprising amount of hair on her head too. Don't ever feel bad for parents with down's children. Feel bad for the people who see them as a hindrance instead of a gift

When I was born I had a 60% chance rate of having Down syndrome. Everyone thought I was going to have Down syndrome but luckily I didn’t. I might have autism or adhd or something but even if you think your just normal or if you think your not normal you are special that’s why you don’t think your normal and if you do think your normal. You’re really wrong, nobody’s normal that’s why people say they are different because they are telling the truth. If you’re reading this God loves you and so do your family and friends. I hope your life goes amazing but remember normal isn’t a thing, perfects not a person.
