Tanner, what are your thoughts on the new changes Cricut announced a few days ago? Specifically the 20 uploads thing.
It's upset so many people in the crafting community, as I'm sure the team at MGL are aware.
What a shame they did this; it's going to have a direct impact on so many of us that are members of MGL (and/or other membership sites) and now we're being penalised for this, because we don't want to pay for Access and it's limited files! And the effect it will have on your business and so many others like it :(
I'm so mad!

Anyone thinking of starting a craft business using Cricut machines needs to be aware that the company plans to charge users of their proprietary Design Space software—and that means EVERYONE—a $10 per month fee to upload more than 20 of their own images per month. If you’re designing your own artwork in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw and your work contains multiple layers which sometimes require multiple uploads for revision/tweaking, or if Design Space garbles your upload and forces you to re-upload your file, you could potentially exceed your 20-image limit in a single project. So to anyone who intends to do custom work and cut it on their Cricut hardware, caveat emptor—Cricut is going to charge YOU to cut YOUR designs on YOUR machine.

Perfect timing - I’m hoping to finalize my own designs by summer so I can start selling! I just got my cricut two weeks ago and heat press 2. I am halfway done with my designs, but there are definitely a few tweaks to work on. I have put a few on the fabric I want to use but some of my designs are a bit too small for the product. I have weekends to work on designs with my full time job, but I can’t wait to launch my Etsy and (hopefully) get that first sale.

I would have thought "everything I needed to know" would include the fact you have to now subscribe monthly to really even use a machine you bought. Thats a HUGE issue you seem to be ignoring.

Aaahhh!!!! I can’t download. It says I still have 20+ minutes but in half an hour, it won’t go past 50%. Am I doing something wrong?

I think there is more to the first question than yes or no. Even if you don't turn it into a full time business, you have the option of turning it into a week end hobby business to make enough money to pay for itself.

Do you think you should let your 373, 000 subscribers know that cricut will now limit your uploads to 20 per month unless you pay for their subscription service? Seems like a pretty important need to know.

This is great Tanner! Thanks for the information. Ever since I purchased my Cricut I knew I just wanted to use it as a hobby & just have fun with it. Now there was a time or 2 where I thought about crafting as a business but then I thought about the fun & enjoyment could be possibly taken away from it. But if I had someone who wanted a shirt made, a mug made, or some tumblers or decals or anything that I can make with my Cricut Explore Air 2 and Easy Press 2, yes I will sell it to them. But not make it a full business. But these steps in this checklist is amazing!

I find that this company is not being transparent in announcing how Cricut design space will require a 100 dollar subscription to upload more than 20 files a month. This makes your subscription absolutely ridiculous and yet you haven’t said anything!
