Nate dresses Cassie. In Nate’s mind he wants Cassie to look like a mixture of Maddie and Jules. The jet straight hair with the harsh eye makeup is a perfect example. As well as the necklace that originally belonged to Maddie. Necklaces have a lot of meaning behind them that can be tampered with in a negative way. The necklace shows dominance over Cassie. Wrapped around her neck like a leash being strung around by Nate. Blinded by lust. This could also mean why Cassie is going through such a nervous break down. Nate took advantage of Cassie at a vulnerable moment. Then constantly manipulated her causing confusion in Cassie mind about who she is, what she wants, wants good for her and what’s good for those she cares about. Not denying that Cassie could have said no. She could have not gotten into the car with nate and that would be the end of it. But that wouldn’t make for a compelling storyline. Instead of seeing sweet innocent Cassie we get to take a look at how she uses lust as a mental coping mechanism to deal with her father leaving.
