This was an awesome movie. Gerry Anderson's SFX really stand up to time, and many of the cast went on to star in UFO. Plot line really collapsed as I grew up and learned about physics and astronomy, but then everything is much more fun as a kid. Suspend belief and it has always been one of my favorite movies. The grittiness of the movie previewed the tone of Anderson's next effort in UFO. Made in the day when we still had a vision for future space flight. Reality turned out to be so disappointing...

Getting this movie on Blu Ray would be so sweet. Remember seeing it as a small child and falling in love with the futuristic cars which still hold up thanks to Alan Mann. I then saw UFO on TV and saw the same type of cars. Didn't realise at the time that they were the same as in Journey only modified slightly and painted different colors.
I loved the whole era of we were going to the moon, building bases there and landing on Mars. Now it's everyone has no dreams, is on anti depressants and dreaming up conspiracy theories. Watching this on Blu Ray will put me back to the future where everything was optimism.

Saw this at the drive in when it came out, then re-watched it in 2022. It’s good enough to see again. 👍 The trailer/advertisement is much.

I just saw this and at first I thought it would be a typical cheesy space sci-fi of that movie era. I was actually impressed by the story as well as the miniature/model FX of this movie. There was alot of detail put into those, and the story was well-written and acted, with the ending not typical of most of these movies.

It was called "Doppelganger" in the cinemas: they used most of the props to make the series "UFO".

This film (my favourite live-action production from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson) and Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (my No 1. all-time favourite movie) both paint very stylish, optimistic visions of the 21st century: so what happened to it and why are we still stuck on Earth when we should be exploring further beyond our solar system?

In the movie its not til they are doing the autopsy on the first guy that died that they find the insides are on the opposite side of the body, but in real life they would have known organs were on the opposite side when they hooked the guy up to the machines and monitors.

even the trailer gives away the plot, This could have been a chapter of the twilight zone.

Reminds me of what Hitchcock did with Psycho, used his tv crew to shoot a movie. a lot of this looks like they borrowed stuff from UFO or vice versa....
