This is Franz Liszts solo piano arrangement so yes, you do have to play the red notes also. I put the melody in different colour so that you can see it among the other notes.

My guess would be that the pianist is not required to hold the red notes down as it would be physically impossible to do so, instead the sustain peddle should be leaned on. Beautiful transcription by Liszt. Thanks for posting this!!

No, it means if one of your fingers aren't playing a key then use it. One of the available fingers. Also, feet don't have fingers. Feet have toes.

i didn´t mean that is that way or no way, i´m a piano begginer, that´s why i say that is
not neccesary to play the red one, cause you can play with a singer like a lieder and play the liszt transcription. Sorry for my ignorance, i don´t know much about classical music, what i just say could be wrong, in that case i will be glad to hear a reply, thank you for all

Likewise. I would like to obtain this midi file. I have a version of it not split into the left hand/right hand/melody parts but not as convenient to follow as this nicely prepared version.
