Today I complete a quick fix to my trucks exhaust pipe! The last pipe that curves has a small hole and the rest of the pipe is solid, so I am trying to apply JB Weld Extreme Heat patch to see how it works! After ~2000 miles it has survived and looks good for many more miles!!

DEWALT 20V MAX XR Cordless Drill, 1/2-Inch (DCD791P1)

Appreciate the after trip follow up. Had a couple small holes near the flange where the y pipe was welded together. My gas welding skills suck, thought I'd try this. The stuff is thin enough when mixed it will sag if applied too thick. Was trying to pack in where the pipes join, had to keep working it with the spreader until it started to set. FWIW.

Excellent video! Going to try it on a small pinhole I found on my very low mileage car's muffler. Thanks for posting!

I use the jb weld extreme heat on exhaust manifolds and it holds up well. I typically put a piece of thin forming metal over the patch and tighten with wire and it holds up well. Recommend it!

Put a piece of screen over the hole after you apply a light coat and then cover it with JB and it will hold better.

ive used this as a temp fix on my cracked exhaust manifold until the new one arrived. months later, it's still holding. I'll be using the same for my resonator.

For that type of repair I'd use a small piece of metal window screen formed to the contours of the pipe's surface and apply the repair paste over the screen to achieve a stronger repair. The screen can be held in place with wire wrapped around the pipe to secure it in place while the repair paste is applied.

I think a rock flew up from the road and punctured your only rust spot. That's Murphy for ya.

Used it on a 07 Kia Rio near the second cat convert and has lasted over 5 month. Use it all up since I found what I had left all harden up. Which I figured would happen.

better to do this than replace SS OEM pipes. I have a Lexus and Explorer, they both got holes where the exhaust shields are welded on. One guy was able to put some weld spatter and save the pipe. Holds great. He mentioned this product can be almost as good.

Great video, currently restoring a BBQ so this is very informative. Must say the echo form your voice at the end made me laugh sounded like you was inside the exhaust.

Keep making good content, you've earned a sub!

How is it holding up after a few months?? I had a bolt break off on me when I was putting on a catalytic converter. There is a small hole and I thought about using this to patch it up. Since it's up front you can't drill it out which sucks.

I have same problem. Hole is near the muffler hanger. I'll give it a try. Thanks . Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving

Excellent explanation! Thanks for your video. I was looking for an explanatory video to apply this product, I'm going to repair a similar hole in the exhaust pipe of a 2010 Ford Escape. Gracias.

I bought some to fix a radiator with a small hole at the top of the radiator. I know the general area of the hold but not specifically where the hole is. Radiator only leaks when I drive. I was curious about the consistence and plan to use a toothbrush to apply. I had used another type of jd weld that was more like a putty... didn't stop the leak. You might have used some cheese cloth to assist with the application, especially over the hole. I was impressed and hope this stops the leak on my radiator.
