Tom, regarding your moves into and out of vegetarianism: there's an article that moved me deeply on this topic, reconciling my desires for tasty food, good nutrition, and ethical living. It's called "The Ethics of Eating Meat: A Radical View" by Charles Eisenstein. You can read it online if you do a little digging in your favorite search engine, or as an appendix in his book _The Yoga of Eating_.

tom, i saw you 4 or 5 years ago at the star bar in philly. there, you told everyone the story with the "half-roll of nickels" bit during, i believe, the '93 show you mentioned. i just wanted to ask, "if there was an musical instrument or style of music that you would like to know how to play, what would it be?" sorry if this has already been asked.
