The rivalry between England and France has a centuries-old history. Everything forget at Wembley the friendly match of both football teams moving demonstration of freedom, equality, fraternity was.

Auf den Anzeigetafeln war der Text der Hymne eingeblendet. Währenddessen wurde eine große Trikolore als Choreographie gezeigt.

Vor dem Anpfiff sammelten sich die Spieler beider Teams inklusive der Reservisten in gemischter Reihe rund um den Mittelkreis, während in einer Schweigeminute der Opfer der Anschläge gedacht wurde. Wie so oft in englischen Stadien wurde diese Minute der Andacht von totaler Stille begleitet. Vor allem den französischen Spielern war anzusehen, wie nahe ihnen die Erinnerung an den Freitag ging.
