I feel like this video is missing the point of the complaints, most people don't have a problem with comics being progressive. The problem is when characters are rewritten for the sake of token inclusionism (i.e. Thor being a woman). I think blame should be on the writer or produce who decided to gender-bend a well established character instead of creating a new one when they hear people complaining about there not being enough women superheroes.

It is not that they are ruining comics. It is that they have writers that can't write their way out of a paper bag. True, comics have had a social edge for a long time but the difference is that they were at least written like they were not preaching at you every single page. Usually they present well-rounded point of views in their stories and allow their readers to think for themselves. Not simply sticking Trump's face on MODOK thinking that is a biting political statement. Lack of Nuance and actual clever writing is what is tanking Marvel. Fire the writers and start fresh.
