[Tutorial] Garry's Mod: How to Build a E2 Mech

The wait has been long, but I have never let you down so far my dear subscribed folks! Here it is, a quite basic tutorial of how to make a mech using the Wiremod Expression 2 chip, the code we use is written by my friend Setsze and slightly altered to fit our Mechs.

Download the UPDATED code for the BFW E2 Chip version 6 here, this is the code that animates the whole mech:
You guys told me about a error in old the chip so this is better, IMPORTANT as has been reported, download the .txt file from page, do not copy it, this guarantees no errors in this chip! :)

Put the .txt file in your expression2 folder, it is for most people located here;
If you have installed Gmod on an other than disc C, change the letter to that disc.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\data\expression2

For extra traction for the feet, write in console and use the tool.
"physprop_material jeeptire"

In order.to find north, you can put you spray down and "up" from your spray is north

Okay, So to ANYONE experiencing issues with it unfreezing and falling to the ground, DOWNLOAD IT. Do not copy it. Any other issues are e2/ballsocket related probably.

not my personal steps to build the mech.
these are mine: (also Sestze's)
1 finish the whole mech frame first on one side(hip, torso, leg, foot)
2 PA mirror around the hip
3 set weight (3000 torso, 3000 hip, 3000 both feet, 500 leg parts)
4 constraint the mech as close as possible
5 seat, e2, eyepod, pod controller
6 profit
my tips for stable mechs:
legs should stick with hip
feet, torso and hip weight should be the same
human legged mechs are hillclimb gods, while chicken mechs look cool

other tips:
usually i use super large props to be armor b3cause they have unlimited hp
dont use multiple small plates, people are going to only focus on 1 plate.

this is my personal experience after building over 20 bfw mechs.

Hi, my game says all parts (torso, hip, and feet) are found, and that mech is ready. I unfreeze, and the torso and hip fall down onto the ground and the thing is basically useless. I linked the legs to the hip via adv. ballsocket, and am pretty sure im not missing any constraints. Do you happen to know what this problem could be originating from (or anyone, for that matter)

Edit: Saw that other peeps below had the same problem. going to try on a server real quick.

How do I get the arms to work? I tried ballsocket centre-ing a prop to it, I put in the model name and it said Arm 1 found, so it obviously found it, but the arm didn't move? Also, Is there a way to smooth out the camera? Its really wobbly.

6:58 how in the heck did you get all those options in the E2 place under the search bar. That's literally what I'm stuck on; not having the right tools for the job, please respond. Edit: I saw you replied to a similar comment by you saying "you need the same version as me" I don't even understand what that is; how do you get the same version, and what is that version?

Yeah so what I was asking about was the Mech chip, and how to get it. Turns out it was so obvious.

The chip had some error, probably caused no issues but here you get a fresh one with no errors ;D

I downloaded the code multiple times, each time trying to make a mech, each time it says the bits are not found, please refresh file, which i have done

Hi, I was attempting to do this, though not knowing I needed the advanced ball socket tool, and when it came around in the video, I forgot I hadn't installed it, so now I have to restart. I believe you should put somewhere all the add-ons and mods you need before you start building, as I did not know ahead of time, and had to restart my game and install it.

I went to my files and I have no “Data” folder in my garrysmod folder I am incredibly confused on how to do this

Edit: I am so sorry for asking that, I am completely blind, at least I found it....

hi I don't know if your still giving responses to problems but my mech wont turn, iv got rid of WAC and i haven't got neurotech but my mech still wont turn. ;-; could do with some help
