I feel like, if Kibbe is too complex and confusing, this system is too simplified and confusing. But I love learning about other people’s systems, so yay a new rabbit hole!

So agree with the straight/romantic comparison. I’m a romantic but never resonated with the suggestions of ornate hyper-femme. I always thought Marilyn Monroe never wore those ornate shapes and patterns, always curvy but never flowy or frou frou. I always thought it was strange that she is the kibbe romantic archetype but doesn’t dress in those kibbe lines.

I read the reddit article and I'm shocked! For the first time I am textbook something in a body type system 😮
I am a straight type and I was already applying most of the tips. Also that answers the question of why extremely feminine garments always looked off, even mature on me

As an African American, Kibbe Dramatic, this system didn't resonate with me. I guess it's because I'm not voluptuous, frame dominant, nor petite. But I'm happy if others are able to benefit from this system.

I'm a wave type (all B answers except for a couple), except I have a higher waist. I'm 5'8" and though thin, I have hips and have been typed as a SD, helpful because I would experiment a lot and was unsure about what looked best on my frame. Learning about wave type is super helpful now, in addition to the SD, especially for textures of clothing and drape. However, being a taller SD wave, I find that a slightly heavier fabric with drape looks great. These days, with choices of coats, or pants, or sweaters, all this info helps us save time and money to just hit our sweet spot. Thanks for another really interesting video, Jenn! We can always count on you to keep it interesting and gorgeous! Also, your kind apology is so heartfelt, but please don't worry about trying to please everyone. You are perfect just as you are.

Hi! I’ve studied at Yumiko Futagami’s school for the skeletal diagnosis, and is curious about Kibbe body type so am watching your content.
I think that the dramatic classic will be classified in the straight type, as the skeletal diagnosis has only 3 types, there are more diversity within the types.
The skeletal diagnosis is more about how to honor your body balance and how to accommodate it by choosing the shape and fabric of the clothes and isn’t about the design or taste of the clothes.
I thought the Kibbe body types are more about the design and the taste so maybe that‘s the most different part?
A wave type can wear a jacket too, but they should accommodate it by choosing a softer material, or unbutton it and wear a high waist skirt (or pants) inside.
Thank you for introducing the skeletal diagnosis and am looking forward for your videos!

I'm a Kibbe soft classic and none of the three types in the video describe me, neither do the suggested clothes choices. I think for people who are in between two Kibbe types or are unsure what Kibbe type they are can find this very helpful though. For me, Kibbe SC is just spot on and therefore I can easily identify with it. Overall I think that while Kibbe might be confusing to some people, it offers a broader variety and thus more differentiated system. But for those who find themselves not fitting any Kibbe type the simpler system is probably great.

UNBELIEVABLY helpful - thank you so much. As you said, it's a starting point to narrow down and then proceed to Kibbe if desired. This quick analysis plus the link to the Japanese self-test indicated straight top/wavy bottom which summed up my best look as shorter top, emphasized, higher waist, flowing pants/skirt. Upon review, my favorite outfits over the years and times I've felt my best were when wearing this combination. Thanks Jenn! You have a great eye for spotting hot topics and breaking them down more succinctly and analytically than most.

I got mostly a’s and 3 b’s. The clothing examples for the A type are exactly the types of clothing that I’ve observed over the years to look the best on me, tailored and straight lines with little to no fussiness and simple contrasting patterns. This fits me way better than the kibbe romantic type with ingenue essence which calls for ruffles and cutesy details. In fact this system fits me perfectly. Thanks for finding this and doing a video on it. I for one appreciate the hard work you put into researching style systems etc. I’m glad I found your channel. I’ve learned loads in a short space of time. You, Alexandra Anelle and Ellie Jean Royden are helping me sort out my style for once and for all😅

this was so easy to understand! i'm only 5 feet tall, and 100 lbs but i never quite fit in with kibbe's choices and i immediately saw my body in the wave type. thank you!

I'm half East Asian, and I have been so confused about my Kibbe ID for so long. I just knew that I was probably a curve/soft/romantic-y type. The straight type makes so much sense for me. I find that I look better in tailored, but not restrictive clothing. The natural-style clothes look sloppy and "big" on me, and the wave-type clothes (gamine) have always looked strange and restrictive on my body. thank you thank you thank you. I at least have one body ID answer 😄

I found this video to be very helpful! And I now know my dominant body type! Thank you! P.s. It’s impossible to represent every single body type or person, so please don’t apologize for it! You can only speak from your own experience. If people have a problem with that, then maybe this channel isn’t for them and that’s OK. Not every channel is for me either nor should it be.

This was very interesting, especially the Madonna discussion. I *think I am a Kibbe Romantic (but who really knows) but I've always gravitated towards these suggested styles and textures, rather than the small round shapes and frills in kibbe. I am small and curvy so I always thought it looked awkward/vulgar when I wore ruffles and little girl details. This will be an interesting rabbit hole for me.

Your hair looks awesome, Jenn. I'm a flamboyant natural and this system echoes that. I enjoy new ways of typing because it's fun. Thank you for this video.

I got the skeletal diagnosis when I had a seasonal color analysis in Korea. I was told I was a wavy type and super confused (I didn't pay for any other diagnosis, she just added that). But it was difficult to find resources about this. I'm able to understand a bit japanese but things are easier to understand in languages I'm better in. Trying to follow the japanese recommendations worked better than figuring out my kibble type for me.

Thanks Jenn! I took what I think was the original Japanese quiz just using Google translate. This system is so easy, and actually seems accurate for me! It says I’m a straight type. With Kibbe I think I am a soft natural, but soft natural looks often make me look bulky. Also, I’m half black and Filipino if that helps anyone who isn’t white or East Asian.😊

I was completely confused trying to answer the questions on Reddit…I was a bit of everything…but it was quite easy to see from your explanation that I clearly fell in the straight category

That’s so interesting. Thank you a lot. I am quite tall (5, 7) but didn’t fit the kibbe type for tall people at all and diagnosed myself as flamboyant gamine (in the end) Now I typed myself as wavy and I guess everything makes more sense to me now 😊

Thanks, this was actually helpful for me as a tall woman with curves I’d kind of settled on SD, but I am just slightly more straight than curve, which makes me more of a Dramatic. This explains why these clean strong lines really work on me, but also why I do well with some ‘curve’ accommodation and bold accessories.

It kind of helps to consider myself in relation to friends since we may both be the same or similar type with important variations, making us not wear quite the same best clothes.
