Giro D'Italia Stage 1 Preview – Sanremo Team Time Trial Ride

The Giro d'Italia starts with a 17.6km team time trial. Simon and Matt preview the narrow, technical route.

Instead of a prologue time trial, the Giro begins with a short team time trial between San Lorenzo al Mare and Sanremo. It's going to be an interesting stage as it's incredibly narrow and technical in places and, most of the course is on bike paths.

Si and Matt put down a time of just under 20 minutes. Let us know in the comments how much that will be beaten by...

Global Cycling Network guys, you should change Virb mount, that's for sure. Get Si something like K-Edge Combo - this will reduce camera vibration a lot (Edge on top, Virb on bottom).

Reading up on the course doesn't do it justice! That technical twisty bollard filled stretch looks bloody dangerous when going full pelt. Hope they ensure its well protected as coming off there would be a disaster
