Mission: Impossible II / M:I-2 (2000) - 'Injection' scene [1080]

In retrospect, this might be the weakest film in the series, partly due to a weak baddie, a lack of the 'team' feel of the other films, and way too much slow-motion from director John Woo. But it was still exciting, and had some wonderful music moments from composer Hans Zimmer. The film was released within a month of 'Gladiator', which Zimmer scored with Lisa Gerrard, and in this scene he uses her ethereal vocals for a very similar effect.

Part 2 Is my personal favorite, mostly because of Hans Zimmer's beautiful score. This scene is masterfully crafted.

Tom's dramatic acting skills are so on point, even in this movie. Dude was such a phenomenal actor in 90s and early 00s. Seriously should have won two Oscars for both Magnolia a year prior as well as for Collateral 4 years later.

This scene never fails to hit me right in the heart. Acting, direction and music is just so beautifully orchestrated that MI2 will always be my favourite film, closely followed by Last Samurai & Interview with a Vampire. ❤
