I found one of these and then found the black and purple treasure pod with 3 gold plorts and then accidentally shot one of the plorts over the ocean and attempted to retrieve it before it was lost forever and didn’t realise how much power I had and then lost it all

I just cleared the Mosaic Gordo and went through that passage. Heard the tingling, got a Gilded Ginger on my first try. Set the trap, didn't get a Gold Slime at first. Thinking I'd maybe set a wrong trap, I picked up said trap.

Tl; dr I got a Gilded Ginger on the first try, and then accidentally destroyed it. Feels like the Universe trying to tell me something...

I was searching for gilded ginger but I couldn't find it. I gave up and started walking home, and on my way there i found one. Then I died and lost it. I found 2nd one acidentaly right when i teleported and I also found 3rd one that way. Now i have 1 gilded ginger because i used one to get gold gordo.
