Empedocles & Anaxagoras: The Pluralists

The Pluralists, Empedocles & Anaxagoras, combined the philosophy of previous Presocratic thinkers in a way that would influence not just Plato and Aristotle, but also leave a lasting impact on Western philosophy and esotericism by proposing that reality is composed of the four classical elements and abstract forces like the Nous: a "cosmic mind" which has power over all living beings.
