Make an Apple Seedling Bed

What should you do with apple cider pulp? Make an apple seedling bed by spreading the pulp out in a garden bed. In this video, I’m trying to grow apples from seed in a simple and impromptu garden bed. If this method works, it could yield me hundreds of apple tree seedlings. And it would all come from the waste product of making cider!

About Gold Shaw Farm: Gold Shaw Farm is more of a farm-in-progress than an honest-to-goodness farm. Our dream is that someday we are able to transform our 150+ acre parcel of land into a regenerative and productive homestead and farm.

Just a few more weeks and you should see them start to sprout. I'm looking forward to the update.

Hope you produce a new apple that the world is waiting for. Have you seen Michael Phillips' Lost Nation Orchard, right across the river in NH? It's pretty amazing. He's got some varieties that you can hardly find anywhere else. Also, his book on organic orcharding is wonderful.

I dont understand u said wiod mulch on top of cardboard. On top of that u spread the seeds? And where is the soil? Its under the cardboatd so how will the plants grow without reach the soil? Also for thr orcgard trees u said u had to sprout thr seeds first before u plant it. Why here u dont sprout?
