Looking good! What a treat it is to see you building again, Ramy.

Excellent as always. One thing I noticed during the epoxy resin/ laminating sequence was that Ramy was using the epoxy straight from the mixing cup and not from a shallow saucer. It's normal to mix resin in a deep cup (which ensures the epoxy and catalyst blend thoroughly), and then to tip it onto a shallow tray or saucer.

Mixed resin is exothermic - it generates heat as it cures - and if it's left in a deep cup the heat builds up very quickly and reduces the working time dramatically. Depending on how hot your workshop is, a cup of resin that would normally give you 40 minutes of working time may turn to an unusable jelly in around 5 minutes!

Carbon-fibre and epoxy is very expensive stuff, so please remember (if you're fairly new to composite work) to spread it out thinly in a saucer to stop it overheating before you've had a chance to use it.

Of course, Ramy has a great deal of experience with this kind of thing and knows exactly what he's doing. I just thought mentioning the shallow tray thing might help prevent anyone else getting in an (expensive!) mess when working with 2-part resin. :-)

Love your work Ramy! You are an artisan of the spirit of the renaissance. Do me a favor and spend some time on flight theory. The crash of that amazing 787 was avoidable. I'm sure you've had a lot of comments about your mistake but hey...these things happen and we learn from them. Airliner wings are designed forn efficiency. When they are completely vertical to the ground they have no life. Fighter jets can do it because the typically have a 1 to 1 on better power to weight ratio with wings designed for 3D acrobatics. When you are wing tip high 90 in a 787 gravity still pulls straight down. Wing tip stall.
Hang in there man and keep building these beautiful birds.

Always enjoyed the building process as well as the first flight. Stay healthy while we as Americans go through this crazy Corona virus.

Fantastic skills, thanks for taking the time to document this so well. I highly recommend mixing the outboard spoilers in with the ailerons during flight for roll control. It will help with adverse yaw and will give you greater control at low speeds. It reduces the tendency of tip stall brought on by aileron use near stall speeds especially useful near the ground where recovery is near impossible. I had full span spoilers on one plane and with flaps deployed on landing the control I had was amazing. Full scale uses them in that way good reason. Deploy them all on landing to keep it on the ground. You’ll love it !!!

What I find amazing is watching his evolution...from chopping foam core on his knees with xacto blades to 3d printing and composites...wow!
Super talented guy

Ramy, I got a new rallying cry for you, Why not? 😊 so great! “I’m not sure this will work, but I’m willing to try. Why not? “ I salute your pioneering spirit. It’s people like you that blazed the route to the West!! Keep it going. So good. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
