Lifeguarding Drill: 10-Yr Old Child Rescue Progression, Rescue Through Rescue Breathing

Показать описание
Lifeguarding Drill: 10 year old child rescue progression, rescue through rescue breathing, 2-rescuer team
GUIDELINES:
WARNING: EXTENSIVE PREPARATION WITH STAFF, CHILD, AND CHILD'S GUARDIAN(S) IS MANDATORY FOR THIS DRILL TO BE EFFECTIVE. DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FROM AGENCY AND CHILD'S GUARDIAN(S).
DO NOT BLOW INTO THE VICTIM. ALL RESCUE BREATHING IS STAGED, HOWEVER RESCUERS SHOULD GO THROUGH THE MOTION OF DELIVERING RESCUE BREATHS. JUST HAVE AN OPEN SEAL, SO AIR CAN ESCAPE.
MANDATORY: FOR SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, ASSIGN A SINGLE LIFEGUARD TO EACH CHILD VICTIM THROUGHOUT THE DRILLS AND IN-SERVICE.
Working with children as victims allows the rescue team address specific challenges: size of the victim, effective and efficient rescue/extrication, and accurate primary assessment with treatment. Most importantly, gentle handling and care of the victim. This is NOT a manikin or an adult size victim.
Emphasis should be placed on rapid rescue, extrication, and treatment. Rescuers must work as a team to provide adequate care. Timing goal for this drill is to complete the drill in under 30 seconds.
