Establishment media is way too focused on the stock market

Looking at the stock market as a barometer as to how well the average citizen is doing financially, makes about as much sense as looking at top level US athletes who embody physical perfection, and then making the claim that the average American therefore must also resemble this level of physical perfection - all the while ignoring the obesity and diabetes epidemic. The only reason why the mainstream media is fixated on the stock market, and how well it is doing, is because most of them are millionaires themselves, and are part of the small sliver of top income earners that truly benefit from the stock market.

It's not just donations, when the stock market crashes companies do mass layoffs to make way for buybacks. We need to ban stock buybacks
