Regulate them like telecoms companies. They are becoming so powerful.

There should be less regulation, not more.
Users should be empowered and informed.

Two obvious conservative improvements to social media...

1. Mutual blocking. When a user blocks another user, it should not just block the other user's content, it should also block its own content from being seen by the other user.

Google's YouTube did that for a while but then, unfortunately, it stopped. A pity. Some social media might use mutual blocking or similar, already.

2. Origin of posting. Every post should be labeled with its origin. Users should know where posts are coming from. If from a VPN, that can be noted.

Have the politicians ever heard of the first amendment? Those that vote for anything violating that amendment should be thrown out of office.

No. The government needs to stop tightening it's grip on businesses. Tight enough. Should be a little looser.

If you break up the two, like Ma Bell in the 1970’s would it be easier to scale? I could see a limit on the number of accounts allowed on each platform, but the number of platforms being as many as can make it a profitable business. The platforms could divide themselves like Cable. One has cooking, one has Politics, etc. Google is harder, as we want one place where all knowledge is stored....or do we? Could that be broken up like the Encyclopedia?

YES! When Private business services become so accepted that Americans become dependent on them, Gov't. tends to step in to regulate these services so that FAIRNESS in distribution & price are maintained & NOT Manipulated for additional private gain (read, 'raking consumers over the coals' or Denying service to other groups). So regarding Facebook/Google/Twitter Censorship, Call your Congressmen, Senators & COMPLAIN!!! FREE
