What's going on everybody rob here with a little video on E85 gasoline. Around Chicago I really have not seen a lot of E85 gasoline. My 2014 Chevy Express 1500 can run flex fuel can run E85 gasoline. Never attempted to try to use E85 gasoline. Got this video well I filmed this video in order to see if anybody else has attempted to run E85 gasoline and what the outcome was if they ran E 85 gasoline apparently in California people run E85 gasoline because gasoline is so expensive in California and it is OK to run if you do not have a lot to drive because it gets horrible gas mileage apparently it gets worse gas mileage than regular gasoline. A couple people even said when they ran it for a couple of months they started to have engine problems. Therefore with my Chevy Express 1500 I would not run flex fuel or E85 gasoline

I started using e85 in my crown vic when gas prices went up. Saved me about $1000 or more so far.

It smells so much better than fuel… and performance jumps quite dramatically 💪🏽🔥🔥🔥 I love it

It gets terrible milage per gallon. You will have to refuel quickly. It's not really worth it unless you rarely drive.

Yes, you should try it! Amazing fuel at a great cost + performance benefits

premium is 6.09 in california right now

E85 is great. Assuming you have a FlexFuel, I would get it every time you fuel you have it available. Lower net CO2 emissions aside, it’ll keep your engine clean, will perform as good or better than gasoline, and will help support farmers instead of greedy oil companies

Bro, that’s what we do in Cali. How else to survive with v8

Its totally worth it for up to 20% HP! 😃 Its higher performance than 93 premium and cheaper than regular!!! But also gets up to 25% less gas mileage. So I use a blend of 1/4th to 1/3 regular gas for better gas mileage. 👍

Pros of E85:
Costs less
Apparently boosts your horsepower if you have a turbo/supercharger
Can be mixed with gasoline

Cons:
10-20% less efficient, you might need to fuel up more depending on your driving habits
Not widely available
Need a Flex Fuel compatible vehicle
Water can build up in tank if you don't drive often

your gas mileage will be slightly lower but you get cleaner emissions and more power since it’s a higher octane fuel, i personally run e85 on my mustang and would recommend it to everyone

It a little worse on the miles per gallon cause it burns quicker or something like that (I’m sure theres more behind it than that) but most cars don’t go over around 25% less fuel efficiency when using it, so considering that the savings are MORE than 25% per gallon, you’d get around 6% saving after its all said and done (assuming your chevy express is on the higher end and burns closer to 25% less efficiently)

Saving 25% in price for 15-27% less fuel efficiency. Hard to say but probably not worth it factoring in time spent filling up more frequently.

I got half the mpg when i used it. Never used it again

The problem is two fold, first off, plan on some serious maintenance after running it for a few tanks, oh and your mpg is gonna plummet. When I tried it, it dropped my mpg down by about 30% and I ran it for about 3 months and then started having check engine lights go off. Turns out, the ethanol absorbs water through the vent lines of my truck and actually had algae growing in my tank. I had to have my tank replaced and every fule line, injector and every line it touched replaced. If you live in a really dry climate, it would probably work fine, anywhere else, it's gonna screw stuff up.

I built my Procharged '69 Camaro to run on it. I love E85, my car makes about 1, 300HP on it. Been running it for 7 years.

Excellent fuel with the only downside being reduced fuel economy. It’s better for your engine in almost every single way otherwise.

Interesting as when I was a guard; we ran e85 cert. ford crown vic's, each night shift would run "almost" a whole tank of gas (little less than ¼ remaining) but when I switched to e85 & take notice that this was a multi-day experiment switching between the two forms of energy sources; noticed the whole tank was drained completely & even to the point of the low fuel light every time... same driving, same routines, everything the same. In conclusion; e85 is approx. ½ the cost of gasoline so which one puts more pennies in your pocket🤌, you do the math cuz I'm done crunching numbers😄 "corn nuts anyone?🌽"

Only use what your car recommend and that's been keeping your van or running good without any problems.

It does get worse MPG but if I were you I would just wait till you tank is almost completely empty and try e85. Some people’s mpg barely go down, however some people’s mpg goes down a lot. I’m might as well see what it’s like for you. E85 actually adds horsepower too. On a stock vehicle you’ll probably only get like 10hp but that’s still power from something you already pay for anyway.
