The difference between pitch and frequency shifter can be explained much more understandable if compared in the linear frequency scale instead of log, and some simple harmonical signal (sawtooth for example). In a few words, pitch shifter just stretches and contracts the spectrum linearly (thus, mathematical relation between harmonics keeps constant since all of them are multiplied by same factor), while frequency shifter just moves the spectrum up and down linearly, and this can produce some unusual effects. For example, we have sawtooth signal with the base frequency of 100Hz, and it's harmonics would be 200, 300, 400hz etc. so they are the simple multiplies of 2x, 3x, 4x of the base frequency and it sounds natural for our hearing. And while we move the spectrum down f.e. for 21 Hz, the resulting harmonics would be 79, 179, 279, 379Hz etc. and so they're no longer divisible by simple number and the signal is no longer periodic - thus, it sounds like a bunch of incoherent harmonics to our ears. This can produce some spooky atmosphere after proper processing - chorus, reverb etc.. Actually, the ham radio enthusiasts are dealing with this effect a lot while listening to SSB transmissions when the receiver is not perfectly in tune and the audio frequencies is shifted slightly.

Thanks for the explanation of the difference between this and a Pitch Shifter - I hadn't quite got it. I have played with Frequency Shifter a little but this gives me lots more ideas. This is likely to become a favourite stock plug in .

Note one thing: the "tempo" setting works only when the song is playing :D if paused, doesn't do anything (after 22.2.2022 update at least) (to be specific: when you stop the song, the "tempo" setting you set when the song was playing is retained and you can't change it again as until the song is playing again)
