There is a saying, don't put all your eggs in one basket. So we should diversify our engine development program and should not rely only on USA. 120kn engine should be either made with Rolls Royce or saffran

I think India should go with both the developments of Engine i.e. France and America ( because of more tot and knowledge)

We should go with rolls royce offer as they accepted to provide intellectual property rights, export rights, 100% transfer of technology which is not available in American and french offer.

It important that our dry Kaveri engine should install on Ghatak.
Once dry engine proven, parallely wet section.
GE 404, GE 414 or 120 KN thrust engine are surety to our projects.
But Kaveri is our baby, need to grow up.

India should go with safran as their offer is much better than their peers. We already have collab with them on helicopter engines. This new developed engine can be used in amca and also in tejas series in future.

Logical analysis . Safran and drdo should first develop the m88-3 engine which can be used on mk1a and rafale( since they have proposed to offer this engine if customer demands one on rafale) and as said by alpha defence the m88-4 can be used for mk2, tedbf and initial amca . Which ultimately can lead to a 120-130 kn engine for amca second batch or else it would have been better if the GE deal is based on the enhanced 116 kn engine of f414 covering mk2, tedbf and amca further going of an adaptive cycle engine in the range of 130kn. Don't know what will come out atlast.

If HAL/DRDO are involved, forget any absorption. It is simply not possible. L&T and Bharat Forge are far more capable of learning and absorbing cutting edge technology.

IPR is the main issue here, the one who is ready to give IPR to India should be selected 🤞🤞

when Safran is offering full ToT which means that Rolls Royce is very close.
Can we have agreement with both Safran and RR? might be too expensive..

This video brought great clarity regarding what the requirements are and who wants to compete for which engine. Now India is spoilt for choice. Hope our decision makers choose quickly and wisely
