The 1970s were a great time for chase scenes.

Back in those days, most sleeper cab semis you saw were cabovers. Nowadays here in the USA, you see mostly conventional cabs because regulations for length & weight have changed. In other words, the length & weight limits increased which allows conventional cabs to pull longer trailers & carry heavier loads. Not to forget safety & comfort for the drivers & less time for mechanics to work on semis too because cabovers took longer to work on than conventional cabs. Then in the late 1990s, they stopped selling cabovers in the USA because they were no longer needed. One advantage cabovers had over conventional cabs was they were easier to maneuver in. Today the USA is one out of a small number of countries that only has a small number of cabovers left on the roads.

Obviously, JMV performed this action stunt scene. A lot of his movies he did the same.
