Transcription:
Hi, my name’s Michelle and I’m a 4A AFM student. Hi my name’s Megan and I’m also a 4A AFM student. And today we’ll be answering your top 6 questions on the AIF. So for the first question, what does AIF stand for? It stands for the admissions information form. And what kind of information should I be putting on my AIF? So we say this is the place where you want to brag about yourself a little bit. So you can talk about extracurriculars, any volunteer experiences, also if you have any extenuating circumstances on why you had to retake a course or did summer school this is where you get to explain yourself. We recommend that you come up with a laundry list of all your different experiences, then maybe group them by category, then pick your top 2 to 3. So for my AIF I played soccer throughout high school so I talked about that in my form. Can my parents write my AIF for me? No, this is where you get to talk about you, so it should be written by you. There are no right answers to the AIF we just require that you do it yourself. Do I need to do the AIF? No you don’t have to do the AIF but we highly recommend it because it gives you a chance to differentiate yourself from other students and talk about your unique leadership and extracurricular activities. What is the benefit of doing the AIF? It just gives you a better chance to elaborate on some of the leadership opportunities that you were involved in in high school that maybe other students did not take part in. And also gives you a chance to be considered for many leadership scholarship opportunities such as the AFM fellowship program and also other entrance scholarships that are not academic related. What if I don’t do the AIF? If you don’t do the AIF your application will not be penalized but we will only be looking at your AFMAA plus your transcript so you may miss out on any other entrance scholarship opportunities that are based on your extracurricular activities. Great so those were our top 6 questions on the AIF and we wish you the best of luck in your application process.
