Was amazed when google turned up at my house and strong armed me into purchasing a pixel 8 pro. Shocking behaviour.

I got the Pixel 8 regular and I do not miss any of the dumb AI stuff added. The size is perfect on the 8 and it looks and feels great.

The pixel 8 pro is the best pixel I have ever used. I love everything about it, especially the bay color and all the googly stuff.

I really liked my Pixel 8 from the text to speech that was almost perfect. The recorder app what music is playing app the camera obviously but I’m on data all day and so my battery life not very good so ended up selling it and I’ll be waiting for the pixel 10 and so if you’re on Wi-Fi about half the time or most of the time you won’t have a problem with the pixel phones but if you’re on data all day the modem is not great

Honestly the only main reason to buy a pro is the cameras and maybe the ram. But i only casually use the camera and i have enough ram with the base model. However the one thing they should have added to the base is more than 256gigs of storage.

The only thing that stop me to buying Pixel 8 is no native telephoto lens. That's it.

I hate that Google thinks a "Pro" phone somehow has to be big. It's so stupid. Apple and Samsung has their "Pro" phone in a standard size with no problem.

Coming from the Pixel 5, the 8 is still a bit too large and heavy for me, so the 8 Pro is a non-starter for me. As I run and cycle with my phone and want the smallest/lightest phone possible for that. Even the 8 still bounces too much during sprints on my arm strap due to its weight.

The battery life difference between the two phones in most of the reviews I've seen show a very minor difference as well.

Google needs to do a better job in letting people know that many camera features are not found in the camera app itself, but in the photos app. You must find the photo you took and then go to edit it. Then find the tools menu and that is where you find many of the tools you are looking for.

Yes, because Tensor sucks and is terribly inefficient. I barely make it through the day with the 8 Pro. The 8 would keep me tethered to a charger more often.

I come from the pixel 4 and switching to a pixel 8 pro was really awesome 👍, I always struggle with small phones due to having X large hands and big thumbs so for me it was the way to go.

YT it's full of video saying the battery life sucks on both.

Currently looking at what new phone to go to as I'm moving away from phone contract to sim only. Looking at the prices the Pro is over £300 more than the regular pixel 8, is it really worth it for the telescopic lens and some AI features? Going from 128gb to 256gb adds about £150 as well.

If you were to install GrapheneOS would you lose many of the camera features on the Pixel 8 Pro?

I really didn't think that the fixed focal front cam would be such an annoyance, but I dont have the longest arms, so at full reach I can't get an in focus selfie, really wish they published the focus distance or something so I could save myself the return fees
