Alpay - Dağlar Engel Oldu (1974)

Показать описание
Born in 1935, Alpay was one of the most productive musicians of the era, releasing countless albums and 45’s up to today. He experimented with a number of genres such as folk, rock and pop. He is known for his soft and bloomy voice, and he has even sung in Italian and French. His hit songs include “Eylülde Gel” and “Fabrika Kızı.” His version of “Kirpiklerin Ok Ok Eyle,” which is an old folk song that has been covered by countless musicians, was released in 1967 by Sayan label. His interpretation of the song is interestingly short (it is only 2 minutes long) and has a more modern sound than most of the covers made during his era.

Band:
Vocals: Alpay
Zurna : Binali Selman
Bass Guitar : Talat Kurter
Guitar : Feridun Erginer

I'm so touched, I can't stop crying when I imagine the smell of turkish ground under my feets, when I remember the land who I was in world, long life to anatolia and perfume of the wind

I listened "Dağlar Engel Oldu" for the very first time at one of the Andy Votel's compilations and this song is so f*** electrifying! In the sequence - if I remember well - came the song "Sociedade Alternativa" by the 70s and 80s brazilian rock star Raul Seixas, and it was totally awesome. Ever since, my heart beat so fast when I listen to this song!

Gönlüm hasret ona küçükden beri
Dağlar engel oldu yol bulamadım
Gezdim Türkistanı Azerbeycanı
Gönlüme göre bir yar bulamadım
Dağlar engel oldu yol bulamadım

Yüce dağlar başı dumanlı dağlar
Ardınızdan sürmeli gözlüm ağlar
Size ne ettim neyledim karlı dağlar
Dumanlı dağlar dumanlı dağlar

Hasretini çektim yıllardan beri
Düşündün mü sen de sevdiğim beni
Varayım dedim de senin yanına
Gurbet engel oldu yol bulamadım
Dağlar engel oldu yol bulamadım.

Out of this world!. Was listening to this as a 5-6 yo kid and still amazed by its beauty as a grown up man. And that ethereal and transcendental Balaban melody continues to have an enchanting power on me. Thanks for sharing.

Türkistan neresi desen şimdi bilen çıkmaz. Eski müzisyenler kültürün içinden gelmiş damdan düşmemiş.

Hands down one of the oldest 70s rockers with so much depth lost to audiences outside of Turkey. An absolute shame for someone of his caliber.
