Did you know that in the Irish language, there is no word for Yes or No!
It seems crazy, but it´s true!

In this video, I explain how we use the negative and affarmative in Irish. And even when Irish people speak English, we often avoid using Yes and No!

The Irish are a chatty people and a yes or no just wouldn't do.

Welsh is very similar - the positive or negative version of the verb is used. (although there are actually words for yes and no, they're only used as a response to an identification sentence). Just beginning my Gaelige journey!
