Показать описание
An experimental video art by Fabrizio de Potestad i Fornari
Produced by Anemic Cinema Productions.
Valencia, Spain 2020 ©
With the collaboration of :
Music by Markus J. Buehler
Images by Nick Cobby, Martin Krzyiwinsi and Fabrizio de Potestad i Fornari.
HOW IT IS DONE:
What you hear is a multi-layered algorithmic composition featuring both the vibrational spectrum of the entire protein (expressed in sound and rhythmic elements), the sequence and folding of amino acids that compose the virus spike structure, as well as interwoven melodies - forming counterpoint music - reflecting the complex hierarchical intersecting geometry of the protein. This sonification of the coronavirus molecule has been developeed by Markus J Buehler and his multidiscplinary team at MIT in Massachussets.
A second step, was to multiply the final composition by the avererage replication number of the coronavirus which was 3.
A third step, was to find the traslation into images of this counterpointmusic. So I decided to use abstract images that resembles glitches or computaional errors.
The music and the images combined shows the deceiving nature of the virus, how it hijacks our body to replicate, and hurt us along the way. A metaphor for this nature of the virus to deceive the host and exploit it for its own multiplication.
