He actually had to fight to get paid, the government at first didn’t want to pay him because he didn’t even know about that reward. He did get paid, and he was also given free college and many of other perks. His name is No Kum-Sok, and became an American Citizen. He went on to earn two degrees. The name of the program was Operation Moolah 💰

Was tested and found to be only slightly faster in dives which Korean and soviet pilots were trained to take advantage of by climbing high before entering the engagement space. F-86 pilots were given similar training afterwards and found the F-86 was faster in turns, which was used to there advantage and changed the fight in the sky's.

Fun fact. The first person outside of the USSR influence to fly this plane was the legend Chuck Yeager. The first person to break the sound barrier.

The USA has been lucky with getting enemy aircraft. We found an intact Japanese Zero on one of the small chain islands off Alaska. We get this North Korean defector with the Mig-15. Then we get a russian defector who flew the Mig 25 landing in japan.

It's nice of them that they still paid him even though they could have easily just arrested him and confiscated the plane

His twin brother Yes Kum-sok was pissed.

But why would it be a surprise that in a country where all media is run by the government he hadn't heard of the offer? I'd have been more surprised if he'd have landed and said "here's the plane, where's my cash bitches?"
