I took my son 15 months to A&E on the 13/1/2024 as he had rashes that started from his groin area in the morning but by the afternoon had spread all over his upper torso. Paediatrician said he had strep and gave us penicillin V to take for 10 days and reported his case to public health. Two days before the end of the course he developed a fever, vomiting, coughing and rashes coming back on the groin area. Lymph nodes are very swollen and now present in the groin area. I took him back to the A&E but the doctor said he seems fine and doesn’t need to worry. Rashes came back, coughing worse now, heaving and fever lasted for 6 days. His nursery had to call me to come for him as he was shivering even after being covered with two blanket. Dr seems to think it’s a very bad viral infection. Sometimes the medical professionals do let parents down and it’s a shame

My kiddo had strep recently! He didn't even run a fever which I thought was odd. Only a stomach ache and sore throat. Even tested negative for the strep test, but antibiotics cleared it up fast! I'm thankful for a doctor that listened to all his symptoms not just the strep test! I didn't even know stomach ache was a symptom of strep!

This was a few years ago when my son was 4. He had a fever and stomach ache with only one complaint of sore throat on the first day. On the third day he developed a rough rash on his torso and red cheeks. I knew immediately what it was but was told by the urgent care MD that strep doesn't present with a rash 🤦 The doc had the nerve to tell my husband he would only run a rapid strep to placate me. Of course it was positive. I'm pretty sure he was bad mouthing us because he came back into the room escorted by a much older doctor who proceeded to lecture him on missing a clear case of scarlet fever. The whole situation left me kind of shaken.

My 3 year old has had strep twice. I’m assuming he got it from his 6 year old sister, and then the second time not sure, but he also had the flu. So positive for strep and flu. Is there a correlation between the two? Thank you so much for all this great information.

My 8 years old son got strep throat 4 times in 4 consecutive month. 2 times the culture was negative. But doctors say it could be strep throat and they give him augmentin 10 days .I am worried and scared for future. Doctor suggested to start bronchovaxon . A capsule to be taken first 10 days of each month for 3 months. Should I take this? And does cow milk cause strep throat?

If a kid has a viral sore throat, and they get a positive strep test but they are actually carriers at the same time, how can you differentiate and decide when to treat with antibiotics?

My son tested positive for strep on Saturday. His symptoms were sore stomach and throwing up, no fever. Day 2 of antibiotics and he now has a fever. Is this common? Provider said to return if his fever doesn't break by day 6/7 on antibiotics.

My 6yo had a sore throat for 2-3 days that cleared on its own, and then I got a sore throat about a week later that turned out to be strep. My child’s doctor said she didn’t need to be tested or treated since her symptoms were gone. The list of complications has me worried and wondering if she should have gotten treated.

My 2 yr old has this, he was perfectly fine yesterday and now is runnig a fever 🤒 took him to the dr is taking amoxicillin, and something for the fever, cough, and runny nose 😢

No appetite but maintaining him hydrated, my daughter started with it also, shes 4 yrs old!

My daughter has it now, she had on and off fevers, fatigue and stomach pains day 1 and 2, rash appeared on her face looking like hfm day 3. Her throat is red but she wasn’t complaining and no visible puss. I was shocked it was strep! Thought it was possibly HFM when we brought her in. Her energy has been great overall!

My 18 month old got just the rash, the Scarlett fever, no other symptoms. My almost 4 year old didn't get it 🤷🏻‍♀️
