Tips for the PNLE

This goes out to all the soon-to-be RNs out there! Hope these 5 tips help you during your preparations for your licensure exam. Oh, and these tips can also apply to anyone else preparing for a big test.

Try answering questions in extreme heat or cold, para wala reklamo kung sang venue ka man mapunta. Be prepared sa noise distraction lalo na pag public school ka na-assign.
Kung trip mo magyosi in b/w tests at nakaka relax sayo. Go!
Kung mabagal ka magsagot, wag mapressure kung ikaw na lang natitira. Kung mabilis ka magsagot talaga, wag mo na pilitin na magtagal pa, la na mababago yan!

one thing that really worked for me during the nle was to pray a lot...it helps with the anxiety! I held a rosary during my nle last dec 2010 and i passed! I'm an RN now and an incoming first year med student :)

I avoided erasures. Sabi daw kasi baka ma misread ng machine. Also, nakaktulong din pra walang pagsisisi sa pagbago ng sagot.
Critical thinking. Common Sense, Mabuting loob at God!
Most questions as Anna said, situational, kelangan mo mag-isip. May questions din na never naturo sa school, gamitan ng common sense sa pagsagot.
Mabuting loob, may questions kasi kelangan mo lang GAMITAN NG PUSO, yung mabait na sagot!
God. If all else fails, short prayer tapos sagot!

I agree that review centers are only their to as their name says "review" you on what you have learn in you 4yrs BSN degree but in the end the ticket to passing is in your hands. Actually I don't review after every review class and when june came I have classes. It was stressful but in the end when I opened my exams all I can do is pray before and after every exams and thank my professors. And also never doubt you answer because sometimes the 1st answer is the right one. DO YOUR BEST IN THE PNLE

My personal tip:
1. Try not to memorize every single cell in your book/notes. Understand them by heart and sooner or later, you will realize na memorize mo na pala yong concept. GETS?
2. Give yourself a well deserve break once in a while. By this, I don't mean drink and get drunk. No. Treat yourself to an hour or 2 of power naps. Go out w/ friends and have a good lunch/dinner.
3. PRAY! (need I say more?)

To those who'll be taking this JULY NLE.. You guys are so LUCCCCKKY !! When Anna thought of doing this video tapos na ako magboard pero nakapasa naman :D But you know what Anna, yung unang video mo na napanuod ko ung about NURSING.. aliw talaga.. nasa review ako nun tawa to the max kami ng friend ko and lalo ako na inspired maging nurse that time and I started subscribing to you na and following you sa twitter ! Pray that you will top the board and do your part to study...try to answer previous nle boards and assess where your strengths and weaknesses are...and focus on the latter part..
have self-confidence that you will pass the NLE :) declare it...

In answering the NLE, let's be honest hindi naman lahat ng hospital na pnagdutyhan natin yung standard or let's say hindi exactly nagagawa yung nasa theory like for example in government hospitals.. because of funds and other reasons hindi nagagawa ung mga dapat talagang gawin lahat improvise so sa NLE pag nagsagot kayo WAG YUNG GNAWA NIYO SA CLINICALS lalo pag sa GOV HOSPITALS kasi sa malamang magkakamali kau. FROM THE BOOK LAGI or YUNG MAS ACCEPTABLE. :)
