Thank you for this video. We are homeschoolers living in Saudi Arabia (Form 1B term 1). Jarir (our local bookstore) is selling the Pearl Diver, and Saluki ! I actually ordered them before watching your video and I am feeling extra excited now.

Those seem like some really cool books, I remember how interesting it was to read Malala's story and I will definitely introduce these books to my kid. I noticed that almost all the authors are not native to the region. I wonder if you can recommend any living books written by authors from the middle east as that, in my opinion, gives a more accurate description of life whether they are stories about life long ago or modern life. Also I had to point out that, according to Encyclopedia Britannica, Pakistan and Afghanistan are not considered countries in the middle east, they are only related to that region because of the turmoil of affairs that those countries have in common.

I really enjoyed this video, thank you. Malala's Magic Pencil is another fabulous book by Malala herself. I think it is so important as Christians to highlight God's common grace manifested in so many people throughout the world and Malala's story is a fine example of this. This young girl new what was right and was prepared to follow that right path, despite the cost.

Any suggestions for living books about Christians in the middle east? I find Christian culture there is very different from Western Christian culture.
