It's not often that you find nice cars under $10,000. But there is no doubt about the fact there is one car that is nicer than all of the rest in that price range that not many people would ever think of. That car is one of the most reliable vehicles ever built and has more options than most modern cars and it gets great gas mileage while doing it. The 2007 Lexus LS 460 today let's go through and show just why this Lexus in 2024 is such a great purchase.

I literally just bought a 2011 ls460 awd 2 weeks ago. 155k miles in it, car looks really good. did a oil change, coil packs and plugs. New breaks and cross drilled rotors all around amd aftermarket rims. The car looks absolutely stunning and drives like new. Im really in love with this car!

LS400 debuted in 1989. I have a 2008 LS460 and love it. However, regarding reliability, there are expensive repairs to be aware of, that are very common. The valley plate, the control arms----and on some years, melting plastics in the interior, dashboard, door panels, etc., damaged by heat and sun. The car is beautiful, comfortable and smooth, but it's no Corolla as far as reliability goes.

I purchased a 2011 LS 460 l, in black with 100, 000 mi on it. I have had it over a year, it's absolutely beautiful and I feel it is better quality than any new vehicle I could have gotten. It is extremely smooth quiet but powerful. To take a road trip in it is like a spa experience.

That 460 is a true gem for $5000. Amazing care taken to those seats. Probably got the sticky dash replacement too

In my opinion, the best $10K car would be an LS430. The reliability is much better than the LS460 vehicles. I just gave my 2003 LS430 with 185K miles to my daughter for the grandkids to learn with in pretty good safety. It literally had NOTHING fail in 22 years, and still after a $200 detailing, people ask if it's new.

Bell Lexus for parts. I got mine earlier this year and have done loads of little things to get it as perfect as possible. Get a grom vLite2 to make the nav system way more updated and useable.

2008 with 160k owned since new. Other than regular maintenance (brakes, oil, filters, tires, trans fluid, diff fluid, plugs, and coolant) I needed to have trans fluid pan resealed, new dash (Toyota paid) and one rear shock.

The LS460 is a BEAUTIFUL car in every aspect inside/out, however, it is also the most expensive Lexus to maintain. The engine/transmission are virtually flawless; it's the front end components that can be problematic/expensive. I'll stay/keep my 2006 LS430.

You can find them out here in the Coachella valley in California ( palm springs) where some grandma had it as the first owner, dealer serviced, zero rust, low miles, cheap.

I used to have a white 1992 Lexus LS400, bought it with 125, 000 miles on it, and later sold it with 250, 000 miles, and it was still like new, reliable and dependable and not so expensive to maintain at my local Lexus main dealer who were 5 stars out of 5 fantastic. Highly recommended as a used car purchase.

When I started looking for an LS460 a saw a beautiful 2008 in great condition with 180k miles for $9k but what pushed me away was everything i read online, expensive suspension to fix, sticky door handles and dash, and fan speed only on the touch screen, so I decided to go with the next Gen found a 2016 with only 62k miles on it, its been 3 months so far its perfect, going for long term ill see how it holds up, this was the oldest car ive ever purchased so i was a little nervous ...

Overall the LS460 is a terrific car, I own an 08 with 162k miles. While agreed on all the positives, potential buyers should still be aware of the issues you mention, and that fixes/parts for this car are MUCH higher than a typical vehicle. My advice to purchase high mileage is to make sure previous owner has recently swapped control arms, engine mounts, and brake actuator. Other items will fail over time but these are the well known and high priced items.

We have a 2007 LS460L 169k miles with rear seat upgrade. It's a unicorn basis no air suspension, but still has the drink cooler in the back and electronic side shades. We have replaced a radiator, brake actuator, and front control arms. Didn't get the notice about the free dash recall and missed the window, so that sucks. If you love these cars and get one with options you like, just pay the money and maintain it. Otherwise stop complaining about maintenance cost and get a clean 430.

I've had a couple Toyota's and have just gotten into learning about all the different models of Lexus. This would be a awesome comfy work car for me!
