im still kind of confused as to why kS_0 was negative, because, by definition, wouldnt the restoring force have to be equal to the force downward for it to be in equilibrium? how can it be in equilibrium when the forces are not equal to eachother?

Sir how can we plug the value of "ks" obtained in step 1 in step 2.I mean Ks was equal to mg only when for a moment when there was a condition of static equilibrium and the step 2 involves the accelerated motion of the block. Then how can we plug ks=mg.Please help me Sir I am really confused in it

thank you for your great explaining but i have a question you put fg+fs=ma i understand fs and fg with negative sign why you dont put ma with negative sign also i mean why ma dont equal =ks+kx+mg without negative sign with ks and kx and mg to make sum of forces in x direction =0
ma-fs-kx=0.0 thanks alot

I dont quite understand, 5:40, -Kx = ma so the only force when the thing is moving is the spring force? when it starts moving the gravitational force just disappears?

It’s hilarious that with each video in the series the number of viewers decreases exponentially 😂😂😂
