To all those who risked their careers despite the run up & fanfare..who spoke up and said "No Go".. Kudos. Very brave, if it didn't "feel right", better to scrub & recheck everything than to be quiet & risk everyone/everything. 👍

Always better to have a safe and successful mission than an on-time one.

Better to stay on the ground and wish you were flying than to be flying and wish you weren't. Lesson learned over 30 years ago with Challenger, and it's gratifying to see that it has stuck with them all this time. Good job, team. There is always another window.

Lessons were learned and that's a good thing. Take your time, do your jobs. No surprises.

I remember when I watched a docu about the Apollo program. Apollo 4, the first test flight of the SLS' more iconic predecessor, the Saturn V, had undergone similar circumstances and got scrubbed as well. Later on, Apollo 6, another test flight of the rocket, experienced some problems mid-launch.
Had these errors not be taken into account, Apollo 8, and maybe 11 would've been a disaster much worse than 13. It just comes to show how the Engies take these errors seriously for human spaceflight in general.

If I was a young teenager I would be striving to work for NASA. Working in a lab with moon rocks and dust extracting metals for future 3D printing for infrastructure or extracting oxygen for humans to live on the moon would be an amazing job.

They are using old used space shuttle main engines.

Man! I was so excited! When do you think they will try to send it again?

Come on launch, it’s not like this is rocket science….. oh wait, nevermind

I’m glad they chose to be safe. 💜 I had been worried this launch was a little rushed.

Hey, I held my chair down to the floor and filled my tank with Kentucky Bourbon Rocket Fuel so it's clearly not my fault. I did everything I was supposed to. This is all much more likely an accounting issue, maybe you should talk to them.

This is the way to run a safe program. Fix malfunctions, but don't be afraid to say no-go when there is any doubt. Good work NASA, lessons learned makes things easier next time.

I’m actually tired of some people talking about SLS as if it’s some sort of competitor to SpaceX. IT IS NOT. SpaceX and NASA are LITERALLY COLLABORATING FOR THIS PROGRAM.
“eLoN Could’Ve DonE it bEttEr”
Really?
This was one scrub. Many of the Starship SN tests also had scrubs. The Space Shuttle missions had many, many scrubs. The Apollo missions had scrubs, and even delayed moon landings. The Gemini missions had scrubs.
Scrubs are a normal part of spaceflight, and Artemis I scrubbing now is far, far better than Artemis I exploding mere minutes into the flight

I think NASA is tired like an old man.

Although we can be disappointed to wait a bit longer, you don't risk billions of dollars on hardware when it's entirely preventable. But, I love the NASA speak, big explanations before they even get to the point, in our world it might go something like this:

" I got up this morning and successfully made it to the bathroom in time, then proceeded to shower and suit up for the day's mission, I had a cup of coffee and some oatmeal that all went as planned, I then proceeded to the outer landing before descending two flights of stairs to the ground level, the weather was cooperating with no storms or threats in the area, I made it down three steps and everything was looking nominal, on the fourth step something moved and I suffered an uncontrolled descent to the ground. Subsequent investigation discovered a loose board which was the likely cause of the anomaly, a meeting to plan for repairs and or replacement will be scheduled as soon as I get out of the hospital. We anticipate at least a couple of months of tests and rehabilitation so we don't have a date for the next attempt at a successful descent at this time"

It's wise to pause and take as much time as it takes to get it right.

Most importantly is they know if the problems are design issue or craftsmanship issue. It is just complicated.

We've waited 50 years for a return to the moon. What's a few more days?
