Sheoak Bowdrill
When I explored Australia and was experimenting with wood and plants which are new to me to achieve an ember through friction.
Most trees I've never even seen before, never mind actually handled or tried a friction fire.
This tree was very obvious up and down the coast, at first I thought it was a Pine tree. The wood I found was very soft and turning punky. I'd tried a Sheoak bow drill earlier on my trip with much harder wood and failed.
Has anyone else used this tree for a friction fire, how did you get on with it?
